Our last day ended with lots of fun and energy --- even from our LBI friends!!!
Here's a peek at our LBE demo with my QH gelding, Sterling, who made us all laugh as he galloped around the arena. Later, I challenged the class to learn something new! Norma jumped rope with Shy, and Jen taught Tom...
Later, we had maxi and mini me --- REBEL meets CORI in the LBI demo. I played with my sister's Thoroughbred at the end of the demo to show what motivation was like.
And here's some of our friends playing with LBI stategies. |

We just completed Day 2 of the Horsenalities In Depth Clinic
Here's a brief snapshot of the day's theme: RIGHT BRAINED HORSES
We were learning about why these horses do what they do and why they choose to offer certain things and not others. It was a great day of experimenting, playing, and laughing. We even had the chance to learn a little Savvy String dancing!!!
First we had the opportunity to study Right-Brain Extroverts, with Honey, Chris Cowherd's saddlebred-arab mare.
In the afternoon, we saw two Right-Brain Introverts, Lee Rook's QH partner, Lukie, and my Thoroughbred mare, Kami. |

My first Parelli clinic of the season: HORSENALITIES IN DEPTH
kicked off today. It was a great start, with a good combination of horses and people to play with. Today was focused on Observations and basic understanding of the horsenality chart. With a full day of watching horses and starting to see subtle signs of when a horsenality shows up, we had lots to talk, laugh and experiment with!!!!
Stay tuned for Day 2 and 3...

This week's unintentional theme ended up being Liberty.
But it was really more than that.
It was a reminder, for me, of just how important neutral and appropriate phases really are to clear communication.
I have been a musician for years, and one of the most important things that I learned from music was that it isn't just the notes that were important to a song, it was also the silences. Without a silence, you could not appreciate the note; without the note, you could not have silence.
I think that it is the same when we play and communicate with a horse. |

Jamie is off in jolly-old England --- he and his mum will be off on a ride across Wales this next week.
I am getting ready for my first themed clinic "Horsenalities In Depth" which will be coming up on the 27 - 29. I'm looking forward to it: I've got a great list of demo horses and activities for participants. And of course, I can't wait to meet some new faces!
Some insider info: we are planning a wedding in September on horseback at the Continental Divide. We are both really excited... and my dress just came in today so. |
