Jamie is a Parelli Certified 3-Star Instructor and Horse Development Specialist. He has spent over a year studying with Pat Parelli.

Jamie has spent eight months studying directly with Kaye Thomas, 4-Star Instructor and Senior Horse Development Specialist, in Australia. The main focus of this study was colt starting and horse training. Jamie has also studied with John and Kathy Baar, Avery Gauthier, Kristie Smith, Berin McFarland, Julia (Ryman) Bell, Trevor and Tara Carter, Jackie Chant, Adrien Heinen, Lyla Cansfield, Allison Jones, Inga Larsen (former instructor), and Dave Stewart (former instructor). He has also had the opportunity to study with Nate Bowers, natural driving expert.

He was on the last 6-Week Course module offered at the Colorado Campus in 2008. He was selected as an extern as part of the beta program for the Parelli Mastery Program in January 2009. He was a main part of the team for Pat’s barn from January 2009 – March 2010, first as an extern and then as an intern directly under Pat Parelli during that time. Pat awarded him his 3-Star Instructor Rating and Horse Development Specialist in March 2010, and he was rated Level 4 in Online, Liberty, and Freestyle. He has since also earned Level 4 in Finesse and has earned his black string.

Jamie has taught approximately a month’s time at the Colorado and England Parelli Campuses from 2010 – 2012 and has volunteered during Parelli Summits and Tours from 2000 – 2012. He did not miss a single Savvy Conference in the UK from 2000 – 2008. He also went to the Savvy Conference in Australia in 2007. He has been at every USA Summit from 2008 – 2012 and also three Tour Stops.

Jamie met Mattie at the 6-Week Course in 2008. Together, they were part of the Mastery Program and were engaged in September 2009. They founded Parelli Horse Play together earlier in 2010 and married September 24, 2010 --- with horses in the ceremony, of course! Together they form a very powerful and complementary team of instructors and horse trainers.

Jamie is an exuberant and open teacher, with a strong desire to share his passion with horses with students. He brings humor and fun every time he teaches and has a very enthusiastic style that is memorable. Jamie is especially good at helping students understand how to break down horse training problems in to simple terms and brings his teaching always back to the basics so that even Level 4 is easy to understand and implement.

He has been training horses since earning his Horse Development Rating and has been successful at transforming challenging horses and horses with terrible starts into wonderful companion and performance- ready horses for clients in both the United States and the United Kingdom. He has trained extensively in colt starting, horse training, Parelli foundation, and driving. He is especially good at developing a horse’s confidence in the saddle and the rider and building a horse’s foundation with solid riding and ground skill basics.

My Current Partners:

STORMY - Stormy is, today, a 22-year-old, chestnut Arabian. He was born in Welsh Wales. When I got him, he was 12-years-old and had the universe's best stable manners because he is a right-brain introvert. He sweet nature has only improved since getting into Parelli and now consistently uses "blinky" eyes to get whatever he wants. He has all his humans wrapped around his little hoof. He's the kind of horse that always asks for attention, but when he gets it, rejects it --- and then when you leave, he says "WAIT! Don't LEAVE ME!!!!" This cycle goes on and on.... If you've read my full bio, you'll know I'm in the UK, USA, Australia... 9 times out of 10 he does something to himself (colic, cuts, scrapes, bruises) within a few weeks of me being gone.

ZAK (KAZAN)- Zak is a 16.2hh buckskin Akhal-Teke. He is a character - for those of you who have a left-brain extrovert, you know what I'm talking about! He's a fascinating horse to play with, because though he is predominantly LBI but if pushed with go introverted. You can tell if you've used to high a phase because his sunny disposition suddenly changes. He also really enjoys testing new people --- if you're a pushover, he may end up picking you up by the scruff of your neck and carrying you around! But if you pass, he'll never test you again (much...). When Zak is not thinking forward - he's like playing or riding a worm! He can put his body into the strangest positions! Most people who know me and Zak, say that we have the same spirit and same quirky personality.

We are looking for the right home for Zak, for interested Parelli students. He would love to be a levels horse and fun loving partner for the right level 3+ student.

ARTEMIS ROSE - is a 15hh, porcelain gray, Andalusian-Arabian mare. She is delicate and timid in a group of horses but bold with a human next to her. She came to me from the East Coast --- it is a great blessing for me to be her partner. She has the flashier movements and overall conformation of the Andalusian (her sire is Nobel II --- some of you may have seen his Breyer model!) with the beautiful head of the Arabian (her mother, Exquisite Too also lives with us and is a lovely and well bred gray Arab). I look forward to developing her finesse and liberty savvy's and start to shape all that lovely movement and talent! Also, she was filmed as part of the Game of Contact DVD released November 2011... Keep your eyes open for her!!!
